The Make a Difference ChallengeIntroduction: The MU School of Information Science & Learning Technologies (SISLT) in cooperation with the MU Graduate School is pleased to offer the Make a Difference Challenge. Over the next four years this scholarship will be awarded to libraries and schools in the state of Missouri who are engaging in technology-intensive and information rich efforts that make a difference in their communities and/or state wide. The 2007 Make a Difference Library Challenge will recognize an outstanding Missouri Library that is using technology and information resources to make profound, tangible differences in the lives of its patrons and its community. The winning Library will receive national recognition and will be able to choose someone from within the organization to receive a full scholarship to MU’s ALA-accredited Library Science curriculum. The links below have information about past winners and this year’s Library Challenge. The winner may choose to begin in the Fall, Winter or Summer of the specific year they are awarded the scholarship, e.g. the scholarship is awarded in May 05, the recipient may start FS05, WS06 or SS06. Education fee waivers are offered by the Graduate School. Only courses required for the degree will be covered by the waivers. Any electives taken that do not pertain to the degree will not be covered. The recipient will be required to cover all incidental fees. SISLT will provide a $25 per credit hour text book allowance. Documentation of textbook purchases will be required in order for SISLT to provide reimbursement to the recipient. Instructions will be provided regarding this when the scholarship is awarded. |
